Common Uses of Tenex:This medicine is an alpha agonist used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How To Use Tenex:Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. If you miss taking this medicine for 2 or more days, contact your doctor.
Tenex Cautions:DO NOT STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE without checking with your doctor. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. THIS MEDICINE WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of other depressants and alcohol. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. Caution should be used in the elderly since they may be more sensitive to the effects of this drug. FOR WOMEN: IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS DRUG IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Possible Side Effects of Tenex:SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using this medicine include dizziness, drowsiness, headache, constipation, gas pains, diarrhea, loss of appetite, fatigue, and nasal congestion. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience skin rash, dry mouth, impotence, decreased sexual desire, taste changes, blurred vision, or leg cramps. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, swelling of the hands or feet, vision changes, ringing in the ears, or yellowing of the eyes or skin. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
