Common Uses of Temodar:This medicine is an antineoplastic agent used to treat adults with certain brain tumors that have recurred or progressed. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How To Use Temodar:Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. THIS MEDICINE COMES WITH A PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLET. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. TAKE THIS MEDICINE WITH A FULL GLASS of water. SWALLOW WHOLE. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing. TAKE THIS MEDICINE AT THE SAME TIME each day in relation to meals. IF THE CAPSULE IS OPENED ACCIDENTALLY, do not breathe in the contents. Do not let capsule contents get on your skin or on the inside of your nose or mouth. TO LESSEN THE CHANCE OF NAUSEA, take this medicine on an empty stomach or at bedtime. IF NAUSEA, VOMITING, OR LOSS OF APPETITE OCCURS, ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist for ways to lessen these effects. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, contact your doctor immediately.
Temodar Cautions:DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take this medicine for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. If you take more than the recommended dose, contact your doctor as soon as possible. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to this medicine. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. THIS MEDICINE MAY REDUCE THE NUMBER OF BLOOD CELLS THAT ARE NEEDED FOR CLOTTING. To prevent bleeding, avoid situations where bruising or injury may occur. THIS MEDICINE MAY LOWER YOUR RESISTANCE TO INFECTION. Prevent infection by avoiding contact with people with colds or other infections. Do not touch your eyes or the inside of your nose unless you have thoroughly washed your hands first. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR MEN AND WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE HAS BEEN SHOWN TO CAUSE HARM to the human fetus. Use an effective form of birth control while taking this medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.
Possible Side Effects of Temodar:SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, headache, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, weakness, or trouble sleeping. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience sore throat; fever; unusual bleeding or bruising; swelling of the ankles, feet, or hands; trouble with coordination; or changes in vision. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience the following side effects or symptoms of toxicity: seizures. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
