Common Uses of Telepaque:
This medicine is an imaging agent used to show the gallbladder on an x-ray.
How To Use Telepaque:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Be sure to follow your doctor's directions about the food you should eat before taking this medicine. Take this medicine after dinner with water. DRINKING EXTRA FLUIDS after taking this medicine is recommended. Check with your doctor or nurse for instructions. Do not eat, smoke, chew gum, or drink anything except water until after the x-ray. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light.
Telepaque Cautions:
IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine or a medicine that contains iodide (such as SSKI, Betadine), contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately, BEFORE TAKING THIS MEDICINE. A severe reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to this medicine or if a certain medicine is an iodide, contact your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE HAS BEEN SHOWN TO CAUSE HARM to the human fetus. IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Possible Side Effects of Telepaque:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include mild diarrhea, or mild to moderate nausea or vomiting, abdominal cramping, heartburn, dizziness, or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience rash, itching, hives, unusual bruising, or bleeding. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
