Common Uses of Tebamide:This medicine is an antiemetic used to treat nausea and vomiting.
How To Use Tebamide:Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. IF THE SUPPOSITORY IS TOO SOFT TO USE, put it in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes or run cold water over it. Then remove the wrapper and moisten the suppository with cool water. Lie down on your side. Use your finger to push the pointed end of the suppository well up into the rectum. Wash your hands thoroughly after using this medicine. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE and you are using it regularly, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
Tebamide Cautions:Do not give children trimethobenzamide to treat vomiting when the cause of vomiting is unknown. Trimethobenzamide may contribute to the development of Reye's Syndrome, a rare but serious illness. If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. THIS MEDICINE WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. DO NOT use this medicine for future conditions without first checking with your doctor. FOR WOMEN: IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Possible Side Effects of Tebamide:SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment include drowsiness, dizziness, or rectal irritation (pain or swelling). If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience loss of balance, uncontrolled movements of arms or legs, shuffling walk, or rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
