Common Uses of Serzone:
This medicine is an antidepressant used to treat depression.

How To Use Serzone:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT take 2 doses at once.

Serzone Cautions:
IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS for this medicine to work fully. Do not stop using this medicine without checking with your doctor. IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to trazodone, contact your doctor or pharmacist BEFORE TAKING THIS MEDICINE. A severe allergic reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to this medicine. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. THIS MEDICINE WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. DO NOT TAKE SELDANE (terfenadine), HISMANAL (astemizole), or cisapride while taking this medicine. Medical/Laboratory tests (e.g., liver function) may be performed to monitor your progress. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible Side Effects of Serzone:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include headache, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, constipation, lightheadedness, or mental confusion. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience blurred vision, irregular heartbeat, or seizures. Nefazodone can rarely cause serious, possibly fatal, liver problems. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience any of the following: nausea, vomiting, stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, or unusual tiredness or weakness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
