Common Uses of Seroquel:This medicine is an antipsychotic agent used in the management of emotional or mood disorders, including schizophrenia. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How To Use Seroquel:Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. AVOID EATING GRAPEFRUIT OR DRINKING GRAPEFRUIT JUICE while taking this medicine. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. CONTINUE TO TAKE THIS MEDICINE even if you feel better. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT take 2 doses at once.
Seroquel Cautions:IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS for this medicine to work fully. Do not stop using this medicine without checking with your doctor. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS (e.g., eye exams) while you are using this medicine. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE DROWSINESS OR DIZZINESS. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines cause drowsiness or dizziness. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL while you are using this medicine. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.
Possible Side Effects of Seroquel:SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or dry mouth. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience unexplained fever, extreme muscle stiffness, uncontrolled muscle movements (e.g., tongue or facial muscles), vision changes, irregular or fast pulse, sweating, or change in alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
