Common Uses of Phenergan:
This medicine is a phenothiazine used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How To Use Phenergan:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. IF THE SUPPOSITORY IS TOO SOFT TO USE, put it in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes or run cold water over it. Then remove the wrapper and moisten the suppository with cool water. Lie down on your side. Use your finger to push the pointed end of the suppository well up into the rectum. Wash your hands thoroughly after using this medicine. STORE THIS MEDICINE in the refrigerator. Do not freeze. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE and you are using it regularly, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Phenergan Cautions:
THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. THIS MEDICINE WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants. Do not drink alcohol without first discussing it with your doctor. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE increased sensitivity to the sun. Avoid exposure to the sun or sunlamps until you know how you react to this medicine. Use a sunscreen or protective clothing if you must be outside for a prolonged period. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible Side Effects of Phenergan:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include drowsiness, dry mouth, or blurred vision. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
