Common Uses of Panretin:
This medicine is a retinoid used to treat Kaposi's sarcoma on the skin. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How To Use Panretin:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Wash and completely dry the affected area. Apply medicine generously to affected area and allow it to dry for 3 to 5 minutes before covering with clothing. Do not get this medicine on healthy skin. DO NOT BANDAGE OR WRAP the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Wash your hands immediately after using this medicine, unless your hands are part of the treated area. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Panretin Cautions:
IT MAY TAKE 4 to 8 WEEKS or longer for this medicine to work. Do not stop using this medicine without checking with your doctor. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE increased sensitivity to the sun. Avoid exposure to the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to this medicine. Use a sunscreen or protective clothing if you must be outside for a prolonged period. DO NOT USE OTHER MEDICINES ON YOUR SKIN without first discussing it with your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This includes insect repellents containing DEET. AVOID GETTING THIS MEDICINE IN YOUR EYES or on the inside of your nose or mouth. FOR WOMEN: THIS MEDICINE HAS BEEN SHOWN TO CAUSE HARM to the human fetus. IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.

Possible Side Effects of Panretin:
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using this medicine include redness, irritation, burning, pain, itching, flaking, or peeling of affected area. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience excessive pain, cracking, blistering, crusting, or swelling of skin. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
