Common Uses of Oxytocin:This medicine is a uterine stimulant used to begin or strengthen contractions of the uterus for delivery of a baby. It may also be used to decrease bleeding after delivery or for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How To Use Oxytocin:This medicine may be administered as an infusion at your doctor's office, hospital, or a clinic. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine.
Oxytocin Cautions:TELL YOUR DOCTOR OR NURSE IMMEDIATELY if you notice difficulty breathing, rash, continued bleeding, or changes in heart rate.
Possible Side Effects of Oxytocin:SIDE EFFECTS include more intense or abrupt contractions of the uterus, nausea, or vomiting. TELL YOUR DOCTOR if you experience difficulty breathing, rash, continued bleeding, or changes in heart rate after receiving this medicine.
