OTICAINE

Generic Version of Oticaine: E: BENZOCAINE (BEN-zoe-kane)

Oticaine Manufacturer: QUALITEST

Common Uses of Oticaine:
This medicine is a topical anesthetic and analgesic used to relieve the pain and itching associated with ear infections.

How To Use Oticaine:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TO USE EAR DROPS, lie down or tilt your head so that the affected ear faces up. For adults, gently pull the earlobe up and back to straighten the ear canal. For children, gently pull the earlobe down and back to straighten the ear canal. Place the proper number of drops into the ear canal. Make sure that the dropper does not touch or enter the ear canal. Keep the ear facing up for several minutes so the medicine can run to the bottom of the ear canal. If you have difficulty keeping the medicine in your ear, ask your doctor about using a clean cotton plug in your ear. Do not rinse the dropper with water after use. DO NOT USE AT THE SAME TIME as other ear drops. If another ear drop medicine is used, use it at separate times. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. Keep the container tightly closed. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE and you are using it regularly, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Oticaine Cautions:
This medicine will not cure an ear infection. It only relieves the symptoms. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR if you notice a discharge from your ear. Also, contact your doctor if the pain or itching does not go away, or if it gets worse.

Possible Side Effects of Oticaine:
CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience burning, stinging, increased itching, tenderness, redness, rash, or swelling. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
