Common Uses of Nitro-Dur:
This medicine is a vasodilator used to prevent angina (chest pain). It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How To Use Nitro-Dur:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine comes with a patient information leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have before using this medicine. WASH HANDS BEFORE and after applying. Apply the patch to the chest, inner side of the upper arm, or shoulder. Clean and dry the skin before applying the patch. If necessary, hair may be removed by clipping. REMOVE THE PATCH from the package. Apply with firm pressure to the skin. To avoid skin irritation, change the treatment site daily. Do not apply to irritated or damaged skin. IF THE PATCH BECOMES LOOSE, remove it and apply a new patch at a different site. After you remove the used patch, fold the sticky side together. Discard the patch out of reach of children and pets. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR PATCH as scheduled, change it as soon as possible then go back to your regular schedule.

Nitro-Dur Cautions:
DO NOT STOP USING THIS MEDICINE without checking with your doctor. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE dizziness. Drinking alcohol will worsen this effect. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. THIS MEDICINE MAY GIVE you a headache. This should become less noticeable with time. THIS MEDICINE WILL NOT RELIEVE an acute angina attack. When used on a regular schedule, it prevents angina attacks. FOR MEN: DO NOT TAKE VIAGRA (sildenafil) while using this medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS DRUG IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible Side Effects of Nitro-Dur:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting when sitting up or standing; headache; rash; nausea or vomiting; fast heartbeat; or flushing of your face and neck. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
