Common Uses of Havrix:
This medicine is a vaccine used to prevent hepatitis A infection.

How To Use Havrix:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. SHAKE WELL before using. STORE THIS MEDICINE in the refrigerator between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 and 8 degrees C). Do not freeze. Discard any unused medicine.

Havrix Cautions:
BEFORE RECEIVING THIS VACCINE, tell your doctor about any illnesses you may have or if you are sick. It may take at least 2 weeks before this medicine will protect you from hepatitis A. A booster dose is recommended 6 to 12 months later for more complete protection. IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS DRUG IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible Side Effects of Havrix:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include soreness of injection site, redness or swelling at the injection site, headache, nausea, loss of appetite, or slight fever. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience rash, hives, or difficulty breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
