Common Uses of Calcijex:This medicine is a form of vitamin D used to treat low calcium levels in your blood. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How To Use Calcijex:Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or a clinic. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. STORE THIS MEDICINE as directed by the prescription label. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE and you are taking 1 dose every other day, take the missed dose if you remember the same day. If you do not remember the dose until the next day, take the missed dose then skip a day. Return to your every other day schedule.
Calcijex Cautions:Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while you are using this medicine. FOLLOW THE DIETARY PLAN provided by your doctor. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE without checking with your doctor. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes vitamin and mineral supplements containing vitamin D or calcium, or antacids containing calcium, magnesium, or phosphorus.
Possible Side Effects of Calcijex:CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience pain, swelling or redness at injection site; constipation; diarrhea; dry mouth; headache; weakness; nausea; vomiting; metallic taste; muscle pain; bone pain; or drowsiness. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience increased thirst or urination, loss of appetite, weight loss, flushing, headache, increased sensitivity of your eyes to light, irregular pulse, itching, severe stomach pain, or emotional or mood changes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
