Common Uses of Benefix:
This medicine is a clotting factor used to prevent or control bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia B.

How To Use Benefix:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office or a hospital. This medicine is sometimes used at home as an injection. Before using this medicine at home, a health care professional will provide detailed instructions for appropriate use of this medicine. Ask any questions that you may have about this medicine or giving injections. STORE THIS MEDICINE IN THE REFRIGERATOR before use, but do not freeze. TO USE THIS MEDICINE warm both vials to room temperature. DO NOT SHAKE VIAL after adding diluent. DO NOT USE this medicine beyond the expiration date on the container. ANY LEFTOVER MEDICINE or supplies used with this medicine should be placed in a plastic bag and disposed of as instructed by your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not reuse.

Benefix Cautions:
KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy.

Possible Side Effects of Benefix:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include mild chills, nausea, or stinging at the injection site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. STOP THE INFUSION AND CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience fever, rash, tightness of the chest, difficulty swallowing, or breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
